Pediatric Dermatology of Orange County
Brandie Metz, M.D.
As a mom and a fellowship-trained pediatric dermatologist, Dr. Brandie Metz is dedicated to thorough and compassionate care for her patients. Dr. Metz earned her bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University, where she graduated cum laude, and her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, where she graduated at the top of her class. Her postgraduate training included a dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where she served as chief resident. She completed her pediatric dermatology fellowship training at Rady Children’s Hospital and University of California San Diego.
Dr. Metz has published numerous journal articles, contributed to multiple dermatology textbooks, and spoken at dermatology conferences nationally and internationally. She has been named to the Best Doctors list (OC Family Magazine), the Top Doctors list (Orange Coast Magazine) and the Super Doctors list (Los Angeles Magazine).
Dr. Metz lives in Irvine with her husband, Mark, and their two children. Outside of work, she enjoys photography and camping.
Lauren Mabe, P.N.P.
Lauren is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of California. She is passionate about caring for children and has spent her career working to provide patient and family centered care; she is so thankful to be able to do this alongside Dr. Metz. Her higher education started at Boise State University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. From there she spent years in Boston, Massachusetts where she obtained her Masters' of Science in Nursing from Boston College, specializing in Pediatric Primary Care. She joined Pediatric Dermatology in July 2021 after working in pediatric primary care in both Massachusetts and California.
In her free time she enjoys baking, exercising, and spending time with her husband Kyle. She and Kyle live in Long Beach, CA, where they love to walk by the beach and try new restaurants.
Maria Ambrosini, F.N.P.
Maria Ambrosini is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years experience in pediatric care. She is a North Carolina native and attended The University of North Carolina at Charlotte for her undergraduate Bachelor’s of Nursing degree. After working as a hospital based pediatric nurse for a decade, Maria pursued her Master’s degree in nursing at her alma mater, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Maria worked as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatric primary care for four years in both North Carolina and California before transitioning to pediatric dermatology in July 2022. She enjoys developing relationships with families to foster healthy children and positive patient outcomes.
Maria and her husband have three boys. She enjoys interior design, exploring outside with her boys, and traveling.
