Pediatric Dermatology of Orange County is currently offering teledermatology appointments for new and existing patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regarding billing of teledermatology visits:

  1. Teledermatology visit charges are billed and collected in the same manner as regular office visits.
  2. Any co-pay will be due prior to the start of the appointment.
  3. Final patient responsibility will be determined after charges are filed and processed by your insurance carrier(s) and you will be responsible for any portion applied to deductible or coinsurance.
  4. Should your insurance completely deny the teledermatology appointment as a non-covered type of visit, PDOC will collect $90 in total for return patients or $120 for new patients.

If you would like to request a teledermatology appointment please call us at (949) 336-6569.

At the time that the appointment is scheduled we will confirm your insurance information and collect any applicable copayment or payment. Once the appointment is scheduled, we will send confirmation of your appointment and instructions for the visit through Klara, our secure patient communication platform.

In order to prepare for your appointment, please have ready any photos that you feel would be helpful for your video visit. Please note that we are unable to evaluate a patient or provide advice based solely on these photos. Photos will be used during the teledermatology visit to provide additional context.

We appreciate your understanding that this is very new to us, but hope that you will find this service to be of value during this unprecedented time.
